Military Appreciation Day at Attitash/Bear Peak
Every ski season Attitash/Bear Peak hosts a Military Appreciation weekend. Those that have served our country in the military and have an ID ski for free this weekend. Being a Navy retiree I took advantage of this and appreciate a ski resort that extends this courtesy toward our military members. Brand had his 5th grade Snowsports Passport that had one free Attitash lift ticket. We were doing well until he discovered that his ski pants were left at home and we had to purchase a pair in the Attitash ski shop. Oh well, c'est la vie!

Cross-country Skiing at Dolly Copp
It was a cold, crisp day and the conditions were right for cross-country skiing. I set out for Dolly Copp campground. While I had been here camping many times throughout my life I had never been here in the winter. I arrived to find no one around, I had the place to myself!

Snowshoeing in Kilkenny
It was a nice cold day with a brisk wind blowing. There was fresh snow and conditions were right for a little snowshoe adventure into the Kilkenny. Up to this point it has been a rather bleak winter with lackluster snowstorms producing very little snow but there was just enough to have fun breaking new trail today.

New Year's Day Hike
What better way to start the New Year than with a hike in the beautiful White Mountains on a gorgeous winter day. We set out for Pinkham Notch to hike across the Old Jackson Road up to Lowe's Bald Spot. The temperature was just cool enough to keep from working up a big sweat but not frigid.
