Cranmore Ticket Rollback Day

Today was the annual lift ticket rollback at Cranmore Mountain Resort. A full day pass was $9, a $50 savings. My son was meeting me today, driving up from southern New Hampshire. Perfect timing, he pulled into the parking lot right behind me. He would be snowboarding and I would be skiing today. The day started cloudy but quickly cleared off to sun and blue sky.

First ride up was on the South Quad, no line. We then skied over to the high speed quad, Skimobile Express. A long line was forming at this lift. We made a run down from the summit that brought us over to the new chairlift on the backside of the mountain, Schneider Triple. There was no line here and we made several runs down on this side of the mountain. We got a lot of skiing and riding in by avoiding the lines on the other lifts.

We took some time out for a quick lunch then it was back on the slopes. Back up on the high speed quad and over to the trails on the north side of the mountain. Most of these trails were skied down and crusty, sharp edges were necessary. The Lookout Triple had no line and we rode this up several times.

The day would not be complete without a trip down The Ledges. This was a very fast trail today, no ice but very hard-packed with most of the loose snow gone. Minimal turns was the secret for getting down this trail today.

By now our legs were looking for some relief and we decided to call it a day. Even with a multitude of people taking advantage of ticket rollback day we managed to find lifts with minimal or no lines and were able to make many runs down the mountain. It was a fantastic day of skiing and riding!

Having Fun in the Great Outdoors!
