Mount Stickney at Bretton Woods

It was a cold, windy, snowy drive on the way to an afternoon at Bretton Woods. We had to decide, skiing or snowboarding. The decision was skiing due to the fact we are better skiers than snowboarders and wanted to try out the new T-Bar lift and glades on Mount Stickney.

We arrived at noon to a very full parking lot. Someone was leaving and we got a very close parking space. Lift tickets were purchased and we skied over to the double chair, there was no line. The quad chairs had very long lines. Of course you pay the price for taking the lift with no line, it's a very slow ride up. We then skied over to Fabyan's Express Triple chair, no line but another very slow ride.

It was powder and packed powder as we skied down Upper Swoop to Cascade on our way to the Rosebrook Summit Express High-Speed Quad. The first run from the summit would take us down Panorama that runs into Two Miles Home We veered off into some glades and back to the Rosebrook Quad.

Up the Rosebrook Quad again but this time we kept going past the glades and headed for the new Telegraph T-Bar lift and Mount Stickney. It was a nostalgic ride up this lift not having been on a T-Bar in many years. At the top was a beautiful new log cabin that served as a warming hut. We stepped inside for a few minutes and took advantage of the warm woodstove. Back outside again we decided to take the left trail down. This was a short trail back to Two Miles Home. Next time we'll take the other trail.

We made our way over to West Mountain. The rest of the afternoon was spent over here sking the trails and glades. Except for a few skied down areas the conditions overall were fantastic!

One final run and we called it a day. As we left the parking lot the clouds parted, the sun broke through and it was a nice ride home!

Having Fun in the Great Outdoors!
